Dr Zewlan Moor was born just over the border, in Beaudesert, Queensland. She attended school in Beaudesert and then Brisbane, before moving to Sydney to study Medicine at the University of New South Wales.
She graduated with MBBS/BA(Hons1) in 1994 and did her residency in Orange. She was accepted into the Urology training program and worked as a surgical registrar, until family commitments forced a move to General Practice. Since completing her Fellowship in General Practice, Zewlan has been able to concentrate more on procedural work.
She enjoys the diagnosis and surgical management of skin cancer in Pottsville half the week, as well as operating as a surgical assistant for robotically assisted laparoscopic prostatectomies in Brisbane for the other half. She is active in her local P&C and Girl Guides group. In her spare time she loves to read, play boardgames and spend time with her family. You were too polite to ask, but her name is pronounced “Shoolen” and is derived from a Chinese name meaning Beautiful Orchid.
